Just finished this presentation for BrightTalk entitled “Why Publishing is the Future of Marketing”. It’s 45 minutes long but gives a nice overview of content marketing.
BrightTalk does ask that you register for it, but I believe it’s worth it.

Not sure I agree 100% on totally ungated. I did that with How to Find New Customers but then switched to just an email address. I’m glad I did as I’ve harvested a huge list.
Hi Jeff…thanks for the comment. As always, it depends on the marketing objective. If your sole objective is to get lead information, then gate it. If your goal is to have your information be spread to the widest audience possible, don’t gate it.
Also, I’ve found that you can strategically place signups at certain portions of the free giveaway that will help make it successful from a lead gen standpoint.
