    Not sure I agree 100% on totally ungated. I did that with How to Find New Customers but then switched to just an email address. I’m glad I did as I’ve harvested a huge list.

    Hi Jeff…thanks for the comment. As always, it depends on the marketing objective. If your sole objective is to get lead information, then gate it. If your goal is to have your information be spread to the widest audience possible, don’t gate it.

    Also, I’ve found that you can strategically place signups at certain portions of the free giveaway that will help make it successful from a lead gen standpoint.
